LA Galaxy top Minnesota United 3-0

Galaxy put on entertaining performance in home finale

The LA Galaxy have been atrocious at the StubHub Center this season, but on Fan Appreciation Night the team came through for their suffering fans, besting expansion side Minnesota United 3-0 Sunday night in style.

LA have improved during Sigi Schmid’s short time in charge, but the Galaxy were clearly inspired to put on a good performance in their home finale. 11 minutes in, Romain Alessandrini gave LA an early lead on a familiar play, probing down the right side of the box before pulling a quick shot around the keeper and in.

The Galaxy doubled their lead in the 22th minute off a very unfamiliar play: For once VAR came to LA’s defense. A pinpoint Jonathan dos Santos header came off the crossbar and clearly crossed the line but was not ruled a goal, that is until further review.

Romain Alessandrini completed the brace in stoppage time, powering a low finish past Bobby Shuttlesworth to send the fans home happy.
