Earlier today FutbolMLS.com posted a piece featuring a kit website that has dramatically re-designed MLS jerseys inspired by Hispanic Heritage Month. All 20 teams in the league received their own spins on cultural references, including the LA Galaxy.

Some (FC Dallas and Vancouver come to mind) are actually quite elegant. The Juan Pablo Angel Colombia-themed Red Bull kit in particular is stunning. Then there’s what LA got, a colorful mish-mash combining several different elements of the classic Mexican poncho.
As the description explains:
This is an example of a simple idea gone amok. Designing a Galaxy jersey based on the Mexican poncho sounds great, so how did the execution go so horribly wrong?
I want to like it, but there’s just too much going on. If they had simply stuck to the classic green and stripes they had a winner, but instead we got something even Jorge Campos probably wouldn’t wear.
That being said, the jersey tag is amazing.
