The LA Galaxy are in the Windy City in their one and only visit to Chicago this season as they play the Fire at Toyota Park on Wednesday. Bruce Arena’s men are on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to New York City FC at Yankee Stadium. On the other hand, the Chicago Fire defeated the Montreal Impact in what was their first victory away from home in two years!
In total, the LA Galaxy have a decent record in Chicago. This is important because MLS tends to be a league where it is difficult to earn points away from home. The Galaxy are unbeaten in their last five visits to Chicago, and the last Fire victory over the Galaxy came in 2010.
That said, with only 10 games remaining this season, three points in Chicago would do the Galaxy wonders in their quest for sealing a place in the playoffs, especially if they want to avoid a late season meltdown like the one they had last year.
