LA Galaxy Colorado Rapids player ratings

How did the players perform?

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Truth be told, the Galaxy had a overall good performance vs. the Rapids, they just couldn't finish on more than one occasion. Let's take a closer look at how the individuals performed.

Excellent-

Steven Gerrard: Putting in a performance worthy of the captain's armband, Gerrard was all over the park, and his distribution was excellent. Now 2nd in MLS with 11 assists.

Ashley Cole:
Smooth and composed on the ball with a team high 3 tackles. The best left back in the league.

Good-

Emmanuel Boateng: When the Ghanian gets into open space, watch out.

Daniel Steres: Had a productive but quiet outing until his 62nd minute header saved LA's bacon.

Jelle Van Damme: Unlucky to hit the crossbar in the 26th minute off a glancing header. A bit sloppy on the ball.

AJ DeLaGarza: Almost scored a dream goal on Tim Howard, but after doing all the hard work was unable to finish the chance.

Brian Rowe: Mr. Reliable as usual. Had no chance on Shkelzen Gashi's golazo.

Ok-

Sebastian Lletget: Hold and cold. Started off poor and touch was off, but had a brief flurry in the first half were he created chances.

Nigel de Jong: Wasn't great, wasn't terrible.

Giovani dos Santos: Required Howard to be on the top of his game, but the Mexican Designated Player needs to find the game more consistently and finish his opportunities.

Gyasi Zardes: Looked a bit rusty, in part due to wearing a pectoral brace, but still put in a hard shift.

Substitutions-

Mike Magee: Not much impact in a 15-minute cameo.

Alan Gordon and Dan Kennedy: N/A
