The only undefeated team remaining in MLS pays a visit to StubHub Center on Saturday as the LA Galaxy look to build on their impressive 4-1 victory at the Houston Dynamo.
Real Salt Lake arrive to Southern California unbeaten in their first six games of the season, including three straight victories coming into this game.
Of course, Real Salt Lake are not the same team they were last season when only the Colorado Rapids finished below them in the Western Conference. Their biggest development has come in the attack. This is a Real Salt Lake side that looks set to go forward much better against teams than they did last season.
Real Salt Lake have a wider range of options now. There is the attacking trident of Juan Manuel "Burrito" Martinez, Joao Plata, and Yuro Movsiyan. Since arriving from Boca Juniors, Burrito has done well to drill his presence on the attack, and to add to that, Plata has hit top form, scoring four goals and notching three assists in the first six games of the season.
Speaking of momentum, however, the Galaxy couldn't have had a better result at The Lone Star State. Bruce Arena's side bounced back from an early goal to ease to a 4-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo.
This win was all the more important here because it snapped a ten-game run for the Galaxy without a single win away from home. In addition, Giovani dos Santos started producing again, as he offered two of the four goals.
Giovani could be key to winning on Saturday, too, especially going up against Real Salt Lake's left back. One of the worries on this Real Salt Lake team is the question of who starts between Chris Wingert or Demar Phillips.
Back in a home environment in which the Galaxy feel so comfortable, this looks like the perfect opportunity for them to get back into their groove. A win against an undefeated Real Salt Lake would be important for the team's form and a statement in that regard, the best may be yet to come from the Galaxy.
