In a somewhat like for like swap (minus 10+ years in age), Alan Gordon replaces Jordan Morris on the USMNT roster after Morris pulled out of training camp due to a hamstring strain.
Gordon has made two previous appearances for the US Men's National Team - and provided one very memorable assist during an away qualifying game against Antigua & Barbuda. In what amounted to a must-win game for the USMNT, Gordon delivered an assist to Eddie Johnson in the dying minutes of the game. That was 2012.
Alan Gordon has a chance to see the field 4 years later. While he will not be a starter barring injuries to Jozy Altidore and Bobby Wood, he is the replacement option for a physical number 9 type forward that will hold up the ball and throw his body around in the effort to earn fouls. And LA Galaxy fans know what he can do with his head.
Congratulations to Alan for earning another national team call-up. He's been in-form for Los Angeles, and it wouldn't surprise any Galaxy fans to see him get minutes.
