A.J. DeLaGarza is the latest LA Galaxy player to be called up for international duty. He follows Robbie Keane, Gyasi Zardes, and Jaime Penedo as the fourth Galaxy starter to be called up for June's slate of international football.
Guam's 2018 World Cup qualifying journey begins June 11th against Turkmenistan, followed by a June 16th match against India. Both qualifiers will be held at the GFA National Training Center.
DeLaGarza has made four appearances for Guam since committing to play his international football for the GFA in 2013. He has most recently featured for Guam in the East Asian Cup semifinal rounds against North Korea and Hong Kong.
Guam's group for AFC World Cup qualifying also includes Oman and Iran, and the two upcoming matches represent the opening of group play.
DeLaGarza's inclusion in Guam's squad will render him unavailable for selection during the Galaxy's June 13th trip to Ohio to face Columbus Crew SC, as well as LA's U.S. Open Cup fourth-round match against PSA Elite on June 17th.
