The LA Galaxy (15-5-9, 54 pts) clinched a playoff spot and pulled level with the Seattle Sounders after a 2-1 come from behind victory against FC Dallas. Alan Gordon came off the bench to head home the winning goal, with Robbie Keane assisting after getting the equalizing goal himself.
The victory takes the unbeaten streak to eight straight, matching their earlier streak from May 21st to July 16th. Alan Gordon has five goals for LA since joining a mid-season, providing the spark they have needed off the bench in big situations.
Robbie Rogers continues to improve at left back, with both Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane singing his praises after the match. His defensive performance was perhaps his best of the year, and the left side became a safe haven for the Galaxy. Robbie Keane's game winning cross came from a one-two with Rogers, faking the shoes off a Dallas defender in the process.
LA fans now have to hope FC Dallas can turn around and help them out midweek as they host the Sounders. Knowing they are in the playoffs, everything now is about positioning. The Shield is within reach.
