The LA Galaxy (12-5-7, 43 pts.) defeated DC United four to one at the StubHub! Center Wednesday night, a thorough victory where LA was able to impose their will for the entire ninety minutes much as they were able to do against Vancouver. Alan Gordon scored in the second minute on essentially the first attack forward for LA, and from that lumbering effort on the Galaxy were entirely in the driver's seat.

The Galaxy have now scored multiple goals in six of their last seven matches. They haven't lost at home to D.C. United since 2005, a run of eight games. This is LA's first three match winning streak of the season. It's the seventh time this season that the Galaxy have scored three or more goals.

Omar Gonzalez and Baggio Husidic also got into the match, with the Gonzalez goal proving the match winner after Leonardo's own goal. Landon Donvovan sent in the cross that Gonzalez was able to kick into the back of the net, adding a new element to his goalscoring repertoire.

It was a good win, one full of sound of fury. A tale told by some of the greats, ultimately signifying that the Galaxy are contenders for this year's Supporter's Shield. They're only two points off Seattle at the moment and are now level with DC United.
