USL Pro side LA Galaxy II made some moves today, bringing back US U-20 player Kainoa Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen II and French defender Jason Bli on a free transfer. Bailey came up through the DC United and Real Salt Lake academy systems, a native of Nevada. In a corresponding move, Galaxy II released Eder Arreola.
Recently the Columbus Crew brought in another US U-20 player, Romain Gall, through a weighted lottery. The signings of Bailey and Bli show another advantage having the USL-Pro side gives the Galaxy. There's less pressure to make good on a youth signing taking up a MLS contract. They can develop down in the minors for a few years, with the promise of being on the senior side at some point.
"The addition of Kainoa Bailey to our roster brings a different dimension to our attack," said LA Galaxy II head coach Curt Onalfo. "Kainoa is a young, talented player who is very fast in the attack and we are excited to strengthen our roster by bringing him to LA."
"Jason is another great addition to our roster, and we are excited to see him join the team," said Onalfo. "Bli is a skillful player and we are sure he will add great depth to our backline."
Bli came through the Paris St. Germain and Atletico Madrid academy systems.
