In the grand tradition of the SportsCenter commercials, the LA Galaxy have come out with a (significantly lower budget version) commercial of their own encouraging folk to skip work to watch the World Cup. In the commercial, everyone has left the Galaxy offices except Donovan, who wanders the empty office in his now ironic World Cup kit.

It's nice to see Landon Donovan have a sense of humor about the situation, which is still a fresh wound for many fans. In 2010 Donovan was in a SportsCenter World Cup commercial where the copier spit out yellow and red cards as he tried to make copies. This year Michael Bradley appeared full kit in the SportsCenter offices toting around a small child as he performed office tasks.

Sort of strange that the Galaxy are going with a tongue in cheek commercial for skipping work, although with an outdoor viewing party for the weekday USA vs. Ghana match you can see the connection. Donovan won't be there though, he's going to do studio work for ESPN out of LA during the tournament.
