Major League Soccer launched fan voting for the 2014 MLS All-Star Game yesterday. The online ballot can be found here, with eight LA Galaxy players making the cut from the media vote onto the fan vote ballot. All nineteen MLS starting goalkeepers are on the ballot, and then seven Galaxy outfield players are available for selection:

A.J. DeLaGarza, Omar Gonzalez, Stefan Ishizaki, Juninho, Marcelo Sarvas, Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane

The only position not represented are the fullbacks, where the Galaxy have had issues keeping players healthy. Depending on how one classifies Donovan's position (and no one would be mad enough to do that save Jurgen Klinsmann) the nominees reflect both a rotation at the second forward and an inability to keep four healthy starting midfielders.

The All-Star Game will be held in Portland, Oregon on August 6th, and there are several other steps to completing the roster after the fan starting XI is chosen. An extra forward is chosen by scoring goals in FIFA 14, the Commissioner gets to pick two players, and the players themselves fill out the rest of the roster. The match day eighteen is ultimately chosen by Caleb Porter who will coach the All-Stars against Bayern Munich.
