LA Galaxy II remain undefeated in USL PRO play after a 1-1 draw with Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday at the StubHub Center's Track and Field Stadium. The Galaxy trailed 1-0 after the 33rd minute until Chandler Hoffman equalized in the 81st minute for Los Dos.
The Preki coached visitors capitalized on a bad clearance in the penalty area off of a corner kick. Former MLS veteran Justin Braun scored on a won header in traffic from close range for Republic FC. Sacramento's goalkeeper Jake Gleeson made five saves, including an impressive play when he came off his line to deny Jack McBean who had powered his way through the defense while collecting an aerial ball.
Gleeson tried to make the angle difficult on Hoffman's goal but a great cutback move by Hoffman dropped the Republic FC defender to the ground giving the Galaxy II forward a great opportunity on net. Gleeson was unable to stop Hoffman's well placed shot. Raul Mendiola picked up his second assist of the season on Hoffman's goal.
Here are the full match highlights, skip to nearly the 20-minute mark to see the goal by Hoffman.
The next match for LA Galaxy II is on April 7 at home against Oklahoma City Energy FC.
