The LA Galaxy Academy's U-18s overcame a second half deficit and early red card to defeat the San Diego Surf, 4-2, on Saturday at the San Diego Polo Club. Steve Martinez scored the game-winner in the final five minutes of the match.

The U-18s fell down by a goal in just the third minute of the match when Zachary Lagotta scored the first of two goals. Jaime Villarreal tied the match for the Galaxy U-18s two minutes later with a volleyed goal. Christian Chavez scored his ninth goal of the USSDA season in the 12th minute which stood until halftime giving the U-18s a 2-1 lead at the break.

Three minutes after halftime, the U-18s lost a player due to a red card. The Surf didn't wait long to take advantage of the extra player, scoring in the 55th and 56th minutes. The wild comeback on the road was completed with goals in the 80th minute (Malcom Jones) and 85th minute (Steve Martinez).

The win improved the Galaxy U-18s to 2-1 in the month of March and 6-1 in 2014. Next up is a road match against Chivas USA at Bell Gardens on March 22.
