- It was reported this morning that the LA Galaxy have agreed to release Robbie Keane for the Ireland friendlies against England and Georgia. It had been previously reported that Keane was not going to be released as the matches fell outside the FIFA International window. This means LA will have to find a forward solution starting at New England, with a midweek US Open Cup match as well.

- One of the undertones of the New York City FC announcement yesterday was that the powers that be in MLS and with Manchester City are backing away from the Flushing Meadows site for a soccer specific stadium. The Wall Street Journal suggests building on Manhattan, but projects on the small island are traditionally quite problematic.
- Claudio Reyna, most recently the US Youth Soccer technical director, has accepted the job as Director of Football for New York City FC. He in 87 matches for Manchester City, and ended his career in MLS with the New York Red Bulls. This was Bruce Arena's third time coaching Reyna, also coaching him on the national team and at the University of Virginia. It's all connected.
