Today ESPN released its first commercial for the 2014 World Cup, which in my mind begins the hype for the amazing year in soccer 2014 promises to be. You can check out the commercial below, which takes advantage of Sigur Ros and nostalgia to get us in the mood for the Brazilian hosted World Cup.

Of course, the soccer year wastes no time getting started with NBC Sports getting its third match day of its 12 Days of Soccer promotion. From Christmas to this past weekend we've seen some shuffling at the top of the table with Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal all spending time atop the premiership. There are ten EPL matches tomorrow with every team in action, then another full slate this upcoming weekend.

The USMNT January Camp roster is expected to be announced Thursday, with both Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez expected to be called in. With the 2014 World Cup right around the corner, Camp Cupcake is going to take on a different look with a friendly against the Republic of Korea capping things on January 1st at the StubHub Center.

February will see the preseason tournaments kick off, with the Galaxy choosing to do their own thing at home again. Arizona is again hosting a tournament, but the Eastern half has moved their training home to Bradenton's IMG Academy. Orlando is still hosting its tournament with Orlando City taking on MLS sides.

We're heading into months of anticipation from the back end of the EPL season, the kickoff of MLS, and the 2014 World Cup. The suspense will be terrible, I hope it will last.
