MLS announced the 2013 regular season schedule this morning which features 17 matches on National TV (English and Spanish) as well as participation in the newly created Rivalry Week.
There will be a bit of a showcase the week of St. Patrick's Day, with eight of the nine match-ups featuring regional rivals going head to head. The LA Galaxy will be hosting Chivas USA on March 17th, a game broadcast on new channel UniMas which replaces Univision's Telefutura.
The Galaxy will get the second week of MLS play off, as they take on Herediano in CONCACAF Champions League play. This hopefully can prevent the overworking of the team which happened in last year's opening weeks. LA will have four days between their MLS opener (broadcast on Univision). They'll also play their first three matches at home.
The month of March will feature six Galaxy matches with their CONCACAF obligations. Any semi-final matches would take place in April, which also has four matches currently scheduled. The only month with three matches scheduled in October; May, June, and July all have five matches scheduled.
April sees the Galaxy get their first exposure on English speaking National TV, with two matches on NBC Sports Network. They'll make three appearances on EPSN2 and ESPN Deportes in May. In total the Galaxy will have six matches on the ESPN family, five on NBC Sports, and one on NBC.
