The Associated Press reported this afternoon that The Home Depot will not be renewing it's sponsorship of The Home Depot Center (link). The sponsorship is set to expire in May.
According to a report by Adam Serrano (link) the Galaxy are finalizing a deal with a new naming rights partner.
The facility in Carson has been known as The Home Depot Center since it opened in 2003. The naming rights deal was four ten years, as was the shirt sponsorship deal with Herbalife that debuted at the same time. The Galaxy were able to renew the Herbalife deal last year.
The LA Galaxy have played in the facility since 2003, with Chivas USA moving in for the 2005 season. The clubs have shared the facility ever since.
No company has yet emerged as a front runner, but Farmers Insurance did enter into a partnership with the Galaxy last year. We'll have more details as they become available.
