AJ DeLaGarza Leaves LA Galaxy Match With Left Knee Sprain

The LA Galaxy had to do without one of their best defenders for most of the majority of their match against the Colorado Rapids as A.J. DeLaGarza went out with a left knee sprain in the thirty-seventh minute. He had to be carried to the locker room by the training staff, unable to put pressure on his injured knee. It was a hard tackle that took him out, and he had to be stretchered off the pitch.

The LA Galaxy defense has been much improved since they've been able to get the 2011 defensive line back of DeLaGarza, Gonzalez, Dunivant, and Franklin. Much of the team's resurgence can be tied to that moment. DeLaGarza was replaced in the match by Tommy Meyer who was one of a revolving door of center backs called in to replace Omar Gonzalez earlier in the year.

While the early prognosis is a sprain, the team won't know anything conclusive until he's had an MRI. It'll be a story to watch this upcoming week as the Galaxy prepare to take on Real Salt Lake.
