David Beckham, Landon Donovan Named To MLS First XI

During halftime of a match between the LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire, MLS named the fan voted First XI of the MLS All Star Game; David Beckham and Landon Donovan made the cut. In a funny coincidence, David Beckham is suspended for the match currently playing and enjoyed the Wimbledon final this afternoon, while Landon Donovan was held from the starting lineup and did not play in the first half.

The MLS All Star Game will be held Wednesday, July 25th at PPL Park in Philadelphia. The MLS All Stars will face UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea FC in a friendly. The First XI is presented in a 4-4-2 formation, with both Beckham and Donovan qualifying a midfielders.

The full squad is as follows:

Goalkeeper: Jimmy Nielsen (Sporting Kansas City)

Defenders: Steven Beitashour (San Jose Earthquakes), Aurélien Collin (Sporting Kansas City), Jay DeMerit (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Heath Pearce (New York Red Bulls)
