The Los Angeles Galaxy will play their first match of the Desert Diamond Cup this evening, a 5pm PST start for a game against the New England Revolution. The game will be streamed live here www.lagalaxy.com/gamedaylive which contains a chat element so there won't be a game thread here. Kyle Nakazawa, Jose Villareal, and Omar Gonzalez did not travel to Arizona due to their injuries; Robbie Keane remains in England finishing out his loan. Landon Donovan and Michael Stephens have national team duties, but plan joining the team in Arizona for portions of the camp. Thus the traveling roster looks like this:
GOALKEEPERS (4) – Bill Gaudette, Nick Noble, Brian Perk, Josh Saunders
DEFENDERS (10) – Andrew Boyens, Justin Davies, A.J. DeLaGarza, Todd Dunivant, Sean Franklin, Bryan Gaul, Bryan Jordan, Leonardo, Tommy Meyer, J.T. Murray
MIDFIELDERS (11) – David Beckham, Paolo Cardozo, Landon Donovan (arrives February 22), Rafael Garcia, Hector Jimenez, Juninho, Dan Keat, Mike Magee, Marcelo Sarvas, Michael Stephens (arrives March 1), Kenney Walker
FORWARDS (5) – Chad Barrett, Edson Buddle, Adam Cristman, Jack McBean, Pat Noonan
HEAD COACH – Bruce Arena
The tournament goes on through March 3rd. As for Landon Donovan and Juninho returning, Scott French has the scoop:
