Remember international soccer? It’s starting to come back, and South America have scheduled the first round of 2022 World Cup qualifiers next month, and one LA Galaxy player has gotten a preliminary call-up.
Attacker Cristian Pavón has been included in Argentina National Team head coach Lionel Scaloni’s 30-man roster for scheduled qualifiers against Ecuador and Bolivia.

It’s unclear how much the roster will be cut and when, and it’s unclear if Pavon did join his national team if he would need to do any kind of extended quarantine coming from the United States, and if so, if he would need to leave the Galaxy early.
Pavón, 24, has 11 senior caps for Argentina to date, including time playing in the 2018 World Cup. Given how stacked Argentina’s attacking corps is, it’s unclear if he’ll make the final roster, but Lionel Messi seems to like him a lot and it wouldn’t be shocking if he gets the call.
Will he miss any Galaxy games? No idea, the league hasn’t released any October schedule yet so it’s a total unknown. But Pavón is in great form and best of luck to him if he does get the nod to join up with Argentina next month.
