MLS and the LA Galaxy announced three additional 2020 regular season games involving the club on Friday. This time, LA will face some fresh faces in the next set of games.
Following Sunday’s California Clasico against the San Jose Earthquakes, the Galaxy will take on the Colorado Rapids next Saturday, Sept. 19, at Dignity Health Sports Park. The following Wednesday, Sept. 23, they’ll hit the road to play Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium, and then they will host the Seattle Sounders on Sept. 27.
LA have been on a roll since returning to the local phase of regular-season play, winning four games out of four played, taking them up to 4th place in the Western Conference at present and basically revived their season.
The Rapids, meanwhile, haven’t won since March. RSL, in the process of getting rid of their very problematic owner, are all over the place formwise but just crushed LAFC, and the Sounders just murdered the Quakes 7-1. So don’t expect any walks in the park.
There will be more regular-season games announced eventually, as long as the league continues to play, and given the state of the world these days who knows if that’s guaranteed or not. But we’ll keep you posted when the next round of fixtures is announced.
