The LA Galaxy announced this week they will add two sleeves sponsors for the rest of the 2020 season, and they are two familiar brands in Herbalife Nutrition and Dignity Health.

“We are excited to have two of our trusted partners featured on our jersey sleeves during the MLS is Back Tournament,” said LA Galaxy president Chris Klein in a team statement. “We have worked closely with Herbalife Nutrition and Dignity Health to support our community during this difficult period. The return to soccer is significant for our club, Los Angeles and our country. We are proud to have both partners represented on our jerseys as we return to play.”

Herbalife is, of course, already the main jersey sponsor for the Galaxy and has been for over a decade. Dignity Health, meanwhile, holds the naming rights to the Galaxy’s stadium and the overall sports complex.

Teams were originally allowed to have one jersey sponsor this year on sleeves but with the coronavirus shutdown eating away at revenue sources, the league allowed clubs to don more sponsors to try and make up some money.

MLS also announced players will be allowed to create custom messages in support of topics like supporting health-care and other essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic or in support of social justice action. These messages appear to be placed just below the player’s number on the back of their jerseys. We’ll see what they say when the games come.

We’ll get to see the new-look kits starting Monday, when the Galaxy are scheduled to play the Portland Timbers in the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando.
