With the transfer deadline quickly approaching and the LA Galaxy organization in need of cash to complete the Cristian Pavón transfer, we compiled a short list of tradable assets and Emmanuel Boateng’s name came up. A quick pacey winger, the 25-year old has attracted interest around the league in the past.
As it turns out, Boateng’s time with the Galaxy may be done. Kevin Baxter at the LA Times is reporting LA have decided to trade Ema to D.C. United in exchange for $250,000 in TAM, a report the Galaxy confirmed Wednesday morning.
.@LAGalaxy has sent @Emaboateng to D.C. United for cash, one of the moves the team needs to make to fund the acquisition of Argentine winger Cristian Pavon. Another @LAGalaxy deal involving another veteran player is expected this afternoon

It’s a somber moment for Galaxy fans, many of whom have a soft spot for Boateng. At the same time, Pavon’s arrival surely would have pushed Ema that much further down the pecking order. At some point, a change of scenery would perhaps benefit both sides.
At the moment, it appears the front office led by Dennis te Kloese aren’t done making deals.
