For weeks it seemed Boca Juniors were kicking the tires down the road regarding a potential transfer agreement for winger Cristian Pavón, hoping to land the best possible deal before the August 7th deadline.
This may still turn out to be the case, but for the moment the competition is heating up: L’Equipe are one of several French outlets reporting Bordeaux are close to signing Pavón on a 24 month loan deal with a purchase option. It’s a somewhat dubious proposal given the overall circumstances but the teams are in talks.
Fast forward to this morning and it appears the LA Galaxy organization are done with the small talk. According to Roger Gonzalez at CBS, Dennis te Kloese has submitted the strongest offer for Pavon to date, and they want the deal done today.
Regarding Cristian Pavón, a source close to the situation said today it is do or die. Final, intense negotiations to get it done. Galaxy are hopeful.

There’s no telling if the unpredictable Boca Juniors board will accept the deal or continue to hold their cards, but we’ll know soon enough.
