LA Galaxy San Jose Earthquakes match preview: What to watch, projected starting 11 and TV schedule

Cali Clasico round 2

MLS: LA Galaxy at San Jose Earthquakes Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Friday’s Cali Clasico rematch vs. the San Jose Earthquakes (8 PT, UníMas and Twitter) has ramnifications beyond securing more points during a three game home stand.

What to watch

Looking ahead to El Trafico. Normally you don’t do this, but the fourth edition of the city rivalry between the LA Galaxy and LAFC is obviously massive. Bob Bradley’s counter-press is no joke and Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s squad must show up prepared.

Expect LA’s strongest starting XI including Jonathan dos Santos, Uriel Antuna and Giancarlo Gonzalez to take the field on Friday. LA haven’t had many of their top performers together for over a month and they need a match.

Outmaneuvering The Bald One. Strange nickname for Quakes boss Matias Almeyda, but El Pelado pressed the right buttons at Stanford Stadium, including the late addition of Shea Salinas who predictably carved up the right flank and scored a dagger to kill the match.

GBS will need a Plan B if the manager that’s the talk of the league has an ace up his sleeve.

Want the NWSL in LA? Keep talking about it. Just a periodic reminder.

Speaking of reminders, the Orange County playoffs are in action this weekend! Check it out fellers.
