The LA Galaxy earned their first road win of the campaign, dispatching the Vancouver Whitecaps by a pair of goals Friday night to open the weekend’s slate of MLS action.
Before two minutes has passed, LA were whistled for a penalty kick when Jorgen Sjkelvic barged into Lass inside the box, but Ali Adnan’s panenka attempt flopped in spectacular fashion.

LA struggled in the attack, unable to provide Zlatan Ibrahimovic with consistent service. As the half wore on though, the Galaxy carved out a few half-chances.
Both sides continued to battle in the second half, and in the 63rd minute it would be the original LA club to go ahead: After the Caps failed to adequately clear a cross, Zlatan collected the loose ball and calmly probed before floating a pass to Daniel Steres at the far post for the easiest of finishes.

Encouragingly the Galaxy looked considerably more relaxed after the breakthrough, with Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s side knocking the ball around the park with relative ease. And in the 71st minute, Ibra would chest a cross down from close range before smashing a shot past goalkeeper Maxine Crépeau.
Final score, 2-0 LA. Next up, Philly at home.
