As we all know, the big Swede made his debut in unforgettable style, scoring a sensational brace to lift the LA Galaxy over LAFC in El Trafico I, a.k.a. The Greatest Game in MLS History.
Though tonight’s matchup vs. the Timbers is officially a collaboration between the Galaxy and the LA Kings, the fans have celebrated the one-year anniversary of Zlatan’s debut as an unofficial holiday.
As it turns out, Ibra was this close to making history again. In the 14th minute Rolf Feltscher delivered a cross from the right flank, and Ibra once again replicated his prowess in the martial arts, executing a right footed kick that deceived goalkeeper Jeff Antitella but clanged off the bottom of the post before bouncing away.
UHHHHHH this is outrageous from @Ibra_official pic.twitter.com/s68In4b3gU— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) April 1, 2019
Zlatan could only curse at the heavens, agonizing over what could have been. However, Ibrahimovic would draw a penalty later in the half to put the Galaxy ahead.
