What a glorious day in the City of Angels.
There was the unveiling of the David Beckham statue, a grand occasion in and of itself worthy of distracting even the most die-hard of LA Galaxy fans from the season opener vs. the Chicago Fire. If that weren’t enough, the two-time MLS Cup winner was also inducted into the Galaxy Ring of Honor and there were pre-game ceremonies honoring the late Sigi Schmid. It was a lot to take in.
Despite all these distractions, shortly before kickoff the Angel City Brigade supporter’s group unfurled a statement tifo. The message was short, simple and to the point.
Angelinos.

There’s been plenty of banter these days from That Other Team about authenticity, what it means to genuinely support football in Los Angeles.
What we do know is real Angelinos support their community through thick and thin. They don’t show up two and a half decades after the fact and act like they’ve always been here.
Well done ACB!
