Galaxy fans have eagerly awaited word on this year’s new away jersey, and this afternoon a few precious details dropped.
Known unofficially but now a reality, both the 2019 home and secondary kits will feature five individual stars above the crest as a nod to the club’s five MLS Cup triumphs in 2002, 2005, 2011, 2012 and 2014.
“The LA Galaxy are MLS’ most successful club,” LA Galaxy President Chris Klein declared in a statement. “Each star represents an incredible journey in our club’s history. They represent a series of accomplishments that no other Major League Soccer team has replicated. Our jersey will showcase what we’ve achieved on the field and in the city of Los Angeles.”
The new secondary kit will be revealed Sunday Feb. 17th at the NOVO Theatre at LA Live. Pro Tip: Bring your 2018 authentic home jersey and the team will stamp the five stars to your kit on the house. Described as ‘Night Navy’, the Galaxy have released a teaser clip that hints at an indigo finish.
