LA Galaxy

The PDL side had enjoyed a storybook run thus far in the tournament, knocking out the colorful Las Vegas Lights FC as well as Orange County SC en route to Carson.

However it didn’t take the Galaxy long to break down the resistance. Bradford Jamieson IV got on the board in the 15th minute, patiently probing in the box before expertly curving a shot around Jose Miranda. Emmanuel Boateng slammed a shot off the post minutes later before LA proceeded to waste several quality chances. Finally Ariel Lassiter doubled LA’s lead right before the break with a beautiful left-footed volley courtesy of Julian Buscher’s perfect cross.

FC GoldenState did not go quietly into the night, and after some sustained pressure Pedro Fonseca put a low shot past Justin Von Steeg to make it a contest.

Ariel Lassiter dashed any hopes of a comeback late, accepting a square cross from Emmanuel Boateng before placing a pinpoint finish off the left post to complete the brace for the goal puppy.

Sigi Schmid’s side move on to battle Sacramento Republic FC in the Round of 16.
