We just aren’t getting tired of watching Ibra’s long-distance masterpiece. Maybe LA Galaxy fans never will grow bored with what has already become one of the biggest moments in the club’s history.
As you would expect, Zlatan crushed the MLS Goal of the Week poll, slicing a half-volley from an improbable distance over a helpless Tyler Miller to level a barn burner of an opening derby between the two LA teams.
With his dramatic, long-range wondergoal, viewed millions of times by millions of fans around the world, LA Galaxy new boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic won this week’s poll by a mile or two, cruising to a comfortable victory with 74 percent of the vote.
Coming in a distant second (13%) is Dom Dwyer’s angled first-time finish into the side netting in Orlando City’s 4-3 win over the New York Red Bulls. Carlos Vela’s delightful curler into the top corner for LAFC finished third (6%), followed by NYCFC defender Anton Tinnerholm’s sizzling corner-kick volley in San Jose (4%) and Cristian Penilla’s twinkle-toed solo effort for New England (3%).
