Sure, LA clanged the goalpost on three occasions and goalkeeper Tim Melia recorded a career-high ten saves, but Peter Vermes’ side had a gameplan and knew how to execute it. That being said, the Galaxy are definitively a work in progress. Romain Alessandrini was clearly rusty in his first appearance back, while Giovani dos Santos did not appear at all and Sebastian Lletget is still working his way back into match fitness. And of course, there’s Zlatan.
