LA Galaxy II kick off their USL season tonight on the road against the Colorado Switchbacks. It’s always a fun time watching these bright young players and picking out which ones might make the jump. Here are our three to watch out for as the season goes along.
Ethan Zubak
The Corona-born forward is poised to have a great season with LA Galaxy II. He might not wow you with his scoring ability, but Zubak will constantly put defenses on high alert.
Opposing clubs will try to pressure the 19-year-old. But Zubak does have the awareness to look for a teammate, rather than trying to go for goal alone.
Miguel Aguilar
Miguel Aguilar was supposed to have a breakout season during the last campaign. But he sustained an MCL injury and was forced to miss the majority of 2017.
The Ciudad Juárez native is back, though, and is looking to lead Los Dos through the middle of the pitch.
Geoffrey Acheampong
This 21-year-old midfielder brings international experience to a young USL squad. Acheampong joined French side Bastia after a year at UC Santa Barbara.
While he was really never able to crack the first team squad, that overseas experience is going to play a pivotal role. Mike Muñoz is also more than likely going to look to him for a leadership role.
