Gyasi Zardes named to U.S. Men’s National Team Gold Cup roster

Galaxy midfielder makes 40-man preliminary squad

MLS: Seattle Sounders FC at Los Angeles Galaxy Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Positive news for Gyasi Zardes.

Even though the LA Galaxy midfielder has yet to find his form in 2017 following long recoveries from foot and knee injuries, U.S. head coach Bruce Arena has named Zardes to his 40-man preliminary roster for the Gold Cup.

This is encouraging to hear. Bruce is right next door, so he as well as anyone ought to have an idea about Gyasi’s fitness. Calling him up suggests that internally, Zardes will roll into form in due time.
