Home sweet home? The LA Galaxy return to StubHub Center to take on the Montreal Impact.
It is still early days in the Major League Soccer season, but Curt Onalfo’s men find themselves with a negative balance of three defeats in four matches, including two straight losses at home.
Following the Galaxy’s 4-2 defeat to the Vancouver Whitecaps last week, they are in an urgent need of a win. Oddly, the Galaxy have done well, but you get the feeling that a positive result here would help them play with much less pressure and much more like what Onalfo wants the team to represent.
In that regard, there is no better time to secure your first home victory of the season than against a winless Montreal Impact. The Canadian side arrive on the back of a 2-2 draw with the Chicago Fire, and the timing of Friday's fixture isn’t the best for Mauro Biello’s side, as this is their fourth away game of the season.
With the individual talent the Galaxy have, there is no reason they should be struggling to get wins at home. Everything right now should be about getting the three points at home and taking the first step towards overcoming this negative start to the season.
