Romain Alessandrini has received the Audi Player Index treatment after his impressive performance on the road vs. the Whitecaps. The LA Galaxy winger blew away the competition with a 1199 player rating, besting Cristian Techera’s second place finish of 985.

(No, I’m not exactly sure what formula they use to come up with the numbers, but it doesn’t take a rocket science to figure out Alessandrini had a breakout performance in a losing effort)

Check out the best moments from the LA Galaxy's newest Designated Player, Romain Alessandrini. The 28-year-old French winger scored his first goal for the Galaxy and notched his second soon after in an exciting game against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday. And even though the Galaxy dropped a 4-2 decision, Alessandrini was a huge bright spot for LA — and the topic of this week's Audi Player Index.

The Galaxy take on an Ignacio Piatti-less Montreal Impact this Friday at the StubHub Center.
