With the international break over, the LA Galaxy are back this Saturday as they travel north of the border to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps.
In truth, the international break arrived too soon for the Galaxy. After an 0-2 start, Curt Onalfo’s men finally managed to gain some momentum, taking down Real Salt Lake 2-1 away from home.
There was, however, some silver lining to taking two weeks off. The Galaxy have recovered Gyasi Zardes, Giovani dos Santos, and Ashley cole from injury and Jermaine Jones is once again available for coach Onalfo.
The Whitecaps haven’t had the best start to their season. The Canadian side is currently winless after three matches, and their last home match ended in 2-0 defeat to rivals Toronto FC.
To make matter worse, the Whitecaps don’t exactly have the best record against the Galaxy. In fact, Vancouver have just one win on their last four home matches against Los Angeles.
Though the Galaxy have looked off pace to start the season, the Whitecaps have been distinctly unimpressive. With several players coming back, the hope for Onalfo and Company is that they can finally start to kick into gear.
