Uh-oh.
Not just one, but two Galaxy players have been hit with retroactive suspensions by DisCo following LA’s 2-1 home defeat to FC Dallas last week.
The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended LA Galaxy midfielder Jermaine Jones for one game and issued an undisclosed fine for his foul in the 17th minute of the Galaxy’s match against FC Dallas on March 4. Jones will serve the suspension during the Galaxy’s next match on Sunday, March 12 against the Portland Timbers.
Additionally, defender Dave Romney has been found guilty of embellishment during the 52nd minute of the Galaxy’s match against FC Dallas. The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended Romney for one game and issued an undisclosed fine for his actions.
The losses are tough to swallow for the Galaxy, but its hard to dispute either call. Especially in the beginning of the season when the league is looking to crack down on physical play, suspect sequences are going to be scrutinized more heavily.
