Wow. This is a massive story, and its got legs.
Grant Wahl has just reported that multiple sources have informed him the LA Galaxy have extended an offer to Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. According to Wahl, the offer is “One that would bring him to the club this summer and pay him what would easily be the highest salary in MLS history.”
LA Galaxy has offered Zlatan Ibrahimović a contract to join this summer & be highest-paid player in MLS history https://t.co/0HTCQ2RP7t— Grant Wahl (@GrantWahl) March 8, 2017
Ibrahimovic is 35 years old, but he has been fantastic for Manchester United this season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions. Ibrahimovic’s United contract runs out at the end of this season, so it would be a free transfer, but there’s a possibility he could extend for up to two more seasons with the club.
It doesn’t hurt the Galaxy Insider has also reported on the matter, which upgrades the news from baseless rumor to legitimate possibility.
Ibrahimovic may be up there in age, but make no mistake about it, he is an elite athlete that transcends age, and there’s no doubting his ability.
What do you think of the news?
