Opening weekend of the 2017 season has come and gone, and the Galaxy have dropped five spots in the MLS Week 1 power rankings released today to No. 10, still above Real Salt Lake and the Houston Dynamo but trailing D.C. United and Sporting Kansas City.

The general consensus among pundits is LA played better than expected against a scary FC Dallas lineup, but still lost their home opener at the StubHub Center, the first time that’s happened since 2014. The loss also matches the total number of losses LA suffered all last season.

In other Western Conference movement, the Portland Timbers rose all the way to No. 3 after thumping Minnesota United FC, while FC Dallas claimed the top spot. Seattle dropped a few places, while the Rapids look pretty at No. 6.
