There’s finally some good news on the injury front heading into the match against the Vancouver Whitecaps tomorrow night.
Giovani dos Santos, Gyasi Zardes, and Ashley Cole are all available for Curt Onalfo, but how many of those actually start on the turf north of the border?
Goalkeeper: Clement Diop
It is more than likely that Diop will get the nod in between the posts again with Brian Rowe still recovering from his shoulder injury before the international break.
Defense: Raphael Garcia, Daniel Steres, Jelle Van Damme, Ashley Cole
This is as close to a normal back line that we have seen all season long now that Cole is healthy enough to be back on the pitch. Nathan Smith and Dave Romney were great replacements, but Cole brings experience more mobility to better defend quicker wingers.
Midfield: Emmanuel Boateng, Joao Pedro, Jermaine Jones, Romain Alessandrini
As you know by now, Sebastian Lletget will be out for a majority of the season after undergoing foot surgery this past week. That means Boateng will get more playing time and will have to make the most of his opportunity. He can impact a match just with his speed, but does have the knack for coming up with a big goal every now and then as well.
Forwards: Giovani dos Santos, Jose Villarreal
The Mexican international is more than likely not going to start against Vancouver, but don’t be surprised if Onalfo decides to give him 60 minute as he tries to regain his fitness. Villarreal started in Salt Lake, and looks to be the right choice again up in Canada.
