Report: LA Galaxy interested in Columbus Crew F Ola Kamara

Could a trade be in the works?

Sooner or later LA are going to make a move in the domestic market. Even with a depleted squad, the Galaxy have movable assets and plenty of holes to fill.

At some point they have to. Even with the free transfer of Jorgen Skjelvik to LA appearing complete, the Galaxy only have 14 players on the roster. And as we reiterated yesterday with the RvP rumor, Kurt Schmid has the challenge of finding a productive forward who can be paid down with TAM funds.

It’s no secret LA have been shopping Gyasi Zardes this off-season. Many suitors have popped up, but the Columbus Crew were singled out a few days ago by reliable MLS reporter Steven Goff as a possible destination for the easygoing forward with the blonde mo-hawk.

Fast forward to this morning.

An underrated striker who recently made his return to the national team of Norway, Kamara has consistently put the ball in the back of the net for the Crew, scoring 16 goals in limited minutes through 2016 and an improved tally of 18 in 2017. Not a prolific creator, but a lethal finisher capable of big numbers in front of net if given service.

Could we see Kamara in LA soon, possibly at the expense of Gyasi Zardes? Only Chris Klein and company know for sure. What do you think of a possible trade? Interestingly enough, Kamara would be the second Norwegian footballer to be snapped up in quick succession after the anticipated arrival of Jorgen Skjelvik.
