LA Galaxy to play Club Tijuana, San Jose Earthquakes in preseason

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

This morning the LA Galaxy added two more friendlies to the team's 2016 pre-season schedule.

The Galaxy will host Liga MX side Club Tijuana at the StubHub Center on Tuesday Feb. 9th at 7 pm, before heading to the bright lights of Vegas to battle the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday Feb. 14th. That match will take place at Cashman Field, a minor league baseball stadium.

In addition to the FC Shirak friendly on Jan. 30th in LA, the Galaxy suddenly have a packed pre-season schedule. With a Feb. 24th home date vs. Santos Laguna in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals looming, LA is obviously looking to get fit as fast as possible.

One factor in the Galaxy's favor? With LA being bounced from the playoffs so early, many of the veteran (read: older) players have enjoyed significantly longer off-seasons, so look for the team to be fresh and ready to go out of the gate.
