LA Galaxy make deadline deal: Likely Sacha Kljestan

The LA Galaxy have confirmed before the close of the MLS transfer window at 5:00pm Eastern time that the LA Galaxy will hold a press conference tomorrow at 2:00pm, likely to announce the signing of Sacha Kljestan.

Update: Based on conversations I've had since posting this article, it's my impression that the Kljestan deal is not 100% finished and may not get completed.

So far the only outlet with a source confirming Sacha Kljestan to the LA Galaxy is the Corner of the Galaxy podast, with LA Galaxy Insider's sources only saying a deal is likely. What was confirmed before the close of the MLS transfer window at 5:00pm Eastern time is that the LA Galaxy will hold a press conference tomorrow at 2:00pm. It's assumed that the press conference will be used to announce Kljestan joining the LA Galaxy roster.

What isn't known are the other moving pieces involved here. There are two teams ahead of the Galaxy on the allocation order including the Columbus Crew who were known to be going after a big target. Both Kljestan and Mix Diskerud were name dropped as posibility. If Columbus' deal with Diskerud fell through as Grant Wahl reported earlier today it is unclear as to why they didn't place a claim on Kljestan.

It's assumed that Kljestan will be announced as a non-DP loan deal with a maximum salary paid down with allocation money, allowing the Galaxy to keep all three DPs currently on the roster. It's also assumed that no further trades are required to get the deal done. These details are likely to come out tomorrow.
