LA Galaxy are super in final bout with artist formerly known as Chivas USA

The LA Galaxy (13-5-7, 46 pts) defeated Chivas USA 3-0 in what is likely the final match to hold the SuperClasico branding, ending a series that wasn't super and could hardly be described as classic. Gyasi Zardes managed a brace and Robbie Keane had a glorious chip in between.

Victory completes a second straight six point week for LA, those twelve points propelling the Galaxy into second in the Western Conference and tied for second in MLS overall. Landon Donovan continued to close in on the MLS all-time assist record, helping Zardes to both of his goals.

The third kit continued to work its magic, as the team as 5-0-1 all time wearing the lucky blacks. Tiki-taco continues to be a thing as a ten pass sequence led to LA's third goal. Gyasi Zardes is tied with Clint Dempsey as the top scoring Americans this year in MLS.

Everything is clicking at the right time for LA, who will be without Jaime Penedo and Robbie Keane on Friday. The momentum is now at four straight victories.
