Every year the second Sunday in May is celebrated as Mother's Day here in the United States. This year, the second Sunday also features an important LA Galaxy road game preceded by a full slate of Championship Sunday English Premier League matches.

This confluence of events means some planning is in order if you wish to go out and watch the games, possibly with mom, as the restaurants in Los Angeles are going to be pretty busy. This makes finding a viewing party all the more important. For LA based EPL fans used to getting up early, NBC Sports is actually hosting a series of viewing parties in a handful of LA area pubs for Championship Sunday viewing. The hosts are:

Ye Olde Kings Head Pub | 116 Santa Monica Boulevard Santa Monica, CA
Joxer Daly | 11168 Washington Blvd. Culver City
Kings Head II | 2969 Ventura Blvd. Studio City, CA 91604
Cock & Bull | 2947 Lincoln Boulevard Santa Monica, CA
Legends Long Beach | 5236 E 2nd St, Long Beach, CA, 90803
Barney's Beanery WeHo | 8447 Santa Monica Blvd. West Hollywood, CA, 90069
Busby's West | 3110 Santa Monica Blvd. Santa Monica
Barney's Beanery Santa Monica | 1351 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica

Each of these pubs has signed on to show all ten matches simultaneously, a unique way to watch the final day of the EPL calendar. There's some overlap there with the official LA Galaxy pubs, making those venues ideal for doing a doubleheader with the Galaxy at Portland Timbers match later in the day.

The AC Brigade will also host an official viewing party, at Smog City Brewing Company in Torrance. There's going to be a Galaxy inspired microbrew there, which certainly gets my recommendation.

Whether you're celebrating Mother's Day tomorrow, or Mexican Mother's Day (always May 10th) today, a little planning and you'll be able to make everyone happy; including yourself.
