The LA Galaxy announced this afternoon that they have traded Greg Cochrane to the Chicago Fire for a conditional draft pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. Since signing MLS veteran James Riley, the Galaxy have released the only two players to start at left back beside Todd Dunivant in the last two years.
I'd have to think that this means that the @LAGalaxy will be signing Dan Gargan now. Place him as RB2 and Riley as LB2.

Whether or not Gargan is the guy, Serrano is right that the Galaxy have to make a corresponding move. Gargan got the second most minutes at right back this preseason with Riley getting extended left back minutes as Todd Dunivant came back from injury. Cochrane got the second most minutes at left back this preseason, and while he's got an upside Arena seems to be going in the complete opposite direction this season valuing veteran experience over youth development.

Meanwhile, it seems Greg Cochrane was out getting sushi with A.J. DeLaGarza when the news broke. Hopefully they were told earlier and DeLaGarza was taking a friend out to say goodbye. Otherwise, awkward city.

There's the note Cochrane was composing while at the sushi joint.
