Omar Gonzalez, Landon Donovan, and Robbie Keane of the LA Galaxy have all been named to the Major League Soccer Best XI for the 2014 season at their respective positions. For Donovan this is his seventh inclusion on the Best XI list, an MLS record.
Robbie Keane, who is also a finalist for MLS MVP, had MLS career highs this year of nineteen goals and fourteen assists. He had the highest combination of goals and assists in the league, finishing third and second in the respective categories. He led the league in game winning assists with six.
Donovan led the league in assists with nineteen which is also an MLS career high. He also had ten goals as he set the MLS all-time records for goals and assists. Omar Gonzalez was a finalist for MLS Defender of the Year, and was a part of a backline that recorded ten clean sheets allowing an MLS low 37 goals.
This is the first time this DP trio have all been named to the MLS Best XI in the same year. The full Best XI is as appears below:
